After four years, last year Helen Dickinson decided to step down as our Chair of Trustees.

“It was a pleasure and privilege to Chair Working Chance. It’s such a unique charity and continues to go from strength to strength, transforming the lives of many women. Whilst I was desperately sad to step down, it was time for the new Board of Trustees to oversee the next exciting phase of Working Chance’s future development.” – Helen.

We are very grateful to Helen for her years of support and wish her the best of luck in the future.

Taking up the reins, we are very pleased to welcome Simon Marshall as our new Chair. Simon is an experienced Managing Director within the business services and outsourcing sector, serving both the private and public sectors. He has worked at Sodexo, Reliance and Serco, holding Board level positions in all these companies. He now runs his own Business Improvement consultancy with six other partners and associates.

“I am proud to take up the appointment of Chair and look forward to leading the Board through the years ahead. Jocelyn and her committed team work hard every day to make a huge difference to many women’s lives. I’m delighted that I can play a part in that great effort.” – Simon.

We are also very lucky to be joined by Tijs Broeke, a Communications and Public Affairs Consultant and Allison Watson, Head of EMEA Business Staffing at Google. Allison is a highly experienced recruiter who has previously worked at Yahoo.

“I am delighted to join the board of Working Chance. This is an incredible charity and it's wonderful to see what has been achieved so far by Jocelyn and the team. I am very excited to be part of the next stage of development for Working Chance. After many years in recruitment I'm hoping I can use my experience working in the tech sector to support Working Chance in meaningful ways.” – Allison.

And Tijs brings him with a wealth of political and media expertise and contacts.

“It is a privilege to join Working Chance as a Trustee. I am passionate about our mission to help women ex-offenders and care leavers find work. It combines my experience working on gender equality, employment services and in the justice sector. I look forward working together with the team at Working Chance, using my stakeholder relations and communications background to further strengthen the reputation of the charity." – Tijs.

We are all looking forward to their creative and fresh ideas, to help us navigate the future.
