Tijs Broeke

Tijs is an experienced communications expert who has worked for several high-profile public, private and not-for-profit organisations. In March 2017, he was elected as Common Councilman representing the City of London Corporation.

Tijs started his career as a political advisor in the European Parliament. He has held various senior communications and public affairs positions at the Equal Opportunity Commission, Network Rail, G4S and until recently was the  Marketing and Communications Director for Ingeus. He is now an independent communications consultant, most recently advising a charity on how best to engage with the Brexit process.

Tijs has extensive knowledge of different policy areas relevant to Working Chance’s mission, such as gender equality, justice and employment services. Tijs joined Working Chance as trustee in 2017. In addition, he is a trustee of FTEC – a charity supporting innovation in health and social care - and has previously been a Special Constable in the London Borough of Westminster.
