We will help you get that job

If you're a woman who has been involved in the criminal justice system or an 18 – 25 year old women care leaver, we're here to help.
Hilton David Ranald McKechnie

If you're a woman with a criminal conviction and need help finding a job, Working Chance may be able to help.

We work mostly in London and the South East, but if you live elsewhere we may still be able to help if we have employers on our books in your area.  Get in touch and we'll see what we can do.

We've placed thousands of woman with convictions into jobs over the past ten years. We believe in rehabilitation and helping people to turn their lives around and flourish. We don't judge - we treat you like a human being who needs someone to believe in them. All that we ask is that you are ready and willing to make the most of the support we offer, and that you take responsibility for mistakes you have made and crimes you have committed.

For the last four years we've also been helping young women care leavers find jobs too.  We recognise that some care leavers need help with employability (like CVs or interview training) and finding the right job for them.

For women in London who would benefit from it, as part of our service we offer therapy to help you work through issues - such as childhood abuse or domestic violence - that are affecting your mental health and holding you back.

We will carry out an honest assessment with you of your readiness to work. If we don’t think you’re right or ready for a particular job, we’ll tell you. We will help you with your CV, confidence building, how and when to disclose a conviction to employers and interview techniques.

Once you're working, we will keep in touch to find out how you're getting on.

Many women come back to us for help to find their second and third jobs to develop their careers.

We believe in your potential and we'll do our best to help you move on with your life.

Your journey with us

  1. We start with a simple registration interview. We discuss your career plans, work experience and what support you might need.

  2. We get your CV in shape and prepare you for interviews.  We can help guide you through debt and finance issues and refer you to other expert support you may need. We then carefully match you to a suitable role and employer.

  3. Our work doesn’t stop when you find a job.  We will check in with you regularly and provide any 'in-work' support you may need.

Some of our employers

"Before I knew it, I had several interviews lined up... My confidence began to grow and I was offered several jobs in the process, one of which I accepted. None of this would have been possible without Working Chance. They helped me to believe in myself again and the support they offered me was amazing."
