Jo Major is the latest addition to Working Chance, joining as the charity’s newest ambassador. As one of the UK’s leading voices in inclusive hiring and equitable talent attraction, she’ll be championing Working Chance to employers, promoting the charity to her networks and sharing in our vision and values.
Jo is the founder of Diversity in Recruitment, working with recruitment businesses, internal talent acquisition teams and employers, to put equity, inclusion and accessibility at the heart of their hiring strategies, not just on the side of them.
A regular voice across the industry, Jo speaks at major events, sits on judging panels like the TiARAs and Recruiter Investing in Talent Awards, and contributes to projects with organisations including Bullhorn, The Access Group, Recite Me, JAAQ at Work, CIPD and The HR World.
Jo is passionate about making EDI practical, sustainable, and business-critical, not performative or complicated.
Jo Major says:
“I’ve admired Working Chance for years. What they do is bold, necessary, and completely aligned with everything I believe about fair and inclusive hiring. Supporting women with convictions back into work isn’t just important, it’s urgent. We need more employer awareness and education, and I’m genuinely excited to be part of work that challenges stigma and creates proper change. Let’s go!”
Our chief executive, Natasha Finlayson, says:
“We’re thrilled to welcome Jo to Working Chance. She’s committed to inclusion, equity and fairness within recruitment, and we’re looking forward to working together to transform the employment landscape for women with convictions. With her on board, we’re one step close to a future where no woman will be held back by her past.”
Working Chance will be announcing further ambassadors later this year, from diverse spheres of life including the justice system, employment and recruitment.
