Create social impact through corporate support for Working Chance

Corporate support like yours is vital in helping women with convictions move beyond their past to a life where they can thrive. We rely on donations and grants to keep our services running, and make sure that we're here for any woman who needs us.

Your company can have a transformational impact on the lives of women, supporting them to develop their employability, secure employment and build an independent future. It will also help us in our mission to transform the employment landscape for all people with convictions: creating a more inclusive, level playing field for anyone looking to get their life back on track.

Our partnership with The Big Yellow Foundation

In 2023, The Big Yellow Foundation selected Working Chance as a charity partner. The Big Yellow Foundation, set up in 2018 to help vulnerable people lead brighter lives, is the charitable arm of The Big Yellow Storage Company

The Big Yellow Foundation has been incredibly generous, supporting Working Chance with funding of £77,500 over the first two years of our partnership, enabling us to support many more women to build a positive, productive future.

Some of the ways we have worked together:

  • Working Chance has supported the Big Yellow Storage Company with inclusive hiring, providing practical advice and support to update their recruitment policies
  • The Big Yellow Storage Company provide successful work placements for the women we work with
  • Working Chance delivered workshops for Big Yellow’s 200 branch managers on why and how to hire people with convictions
  • Continuing to develop volunteering opportunities for Big Yellow staff.

“Our partnership with Big Yellow really stands out as a great example of how charity/corporate partnerships should work. We have a multi-faceted relationship, including funding, training and work experience placements for the women we support into employment, and it has worked both ways, as good partnerships should.

"Honest dialogue between Working Chance and Big Yellow has led us to identify volunteering opportunities for Big Yellow staff that are meaningful for them, while also meeting a need for us. Communication has always been open and straightforward, which we really value.”
